Dr. Getty has created EEG Consulting LLC, a management consultancy, to assist organizations in developing external/ open innovation strategies & process management techniques to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
Dr. Getty has over 30 years of cross-functional R&D Technology Management & Strategy experience gained while creating & managing world-class open/external innovation business models, processes and capabilities in areas such as Digital/eCommerce, Consumer Goods, Food, Beverages, Ingredients, Specialty and Allied Chemical, and Building & Construction sectors.
Through his external innovation journeys, Dr. Getty has been mentoring and cultivating entrepreneurs & startups in how to work with large enterprises, helping develop mutually beneficial relationship agreements, and coaching the startup community on how to move from prototype to commercial scale.

Dr. Getty most recently held roles as VP External Innovation, Senior Director Residential R&D and Director Technology & Innovation at GAF Materials Corporation where he managed R&D efforts to support the current business and lead new product and process development to drive future growth of the business.
Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer of TechConnectHub.com where he connecte corporate innovation challenges to capabilities and solutions from researchers, entrepreneurs, and startup communities around the world.
Director of Global External Innovation for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company and Mars Incorporated where he was responsible for creating and managing the external innovation strategy & program to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
Senior Director, External Technology Acquisition for The Coca-Cola Company, where he was responsible for establishing and systematizing external technology acquisition capabilities tailored to The Coca-Cola Company culture and franchise business model.
Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, Dr. Getty was a Research Fellow for The Procter & Gamble Company, a Fortune Global 500 household and personal products company. He was principal architect and key leader of the Connect + Develop(SM) open innovation strategy at P&G from 1998-2008. The program delivered over 250 new product introductions from 2001-2006 and greater than 50% of P&G's new product introductions on a yearly basis included external ideas or technologies by 2008. The program delivered over $1 billion in sustainable annual sales growth and a new goal for the program was set to deliver $3 billion towards annual sales growth.
Dr. Getty has served on the Advisory Committee for the National Science Foundation Director of Engineering's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Subcommittee, the Advisory Committee for the National Science Foundation GPRA Performance Assessment (AC/GPA), American-Israel Chamber of Commerce Southeast Region Board of Directors, and the yourEncore Board of Advisors. He currently is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Licensing Executives Society (LES), and the American Chemical Society (ACS).
Dr. Getty holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Oneonta and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Florida. He is an accomplished speaker and has 13 patents.
